What are you currently working on?
At the moment, I am collaborating on several interesting residential projects, where in cooperation with architects and investors I am addressing the complete concept of interior furnishings. Conceptually, we proceed from the selection of switches, through door fittings, to the selection of lighting, which perfectly emphasizes our overall intention in the interior with its atmosphere. Currently, I am very pleased with the first project that I am realizing outside of Czech borders, specifically in Austria, where I am involved in the interior design and lighting selection for a company in the automotive industry.
What role do you think a switch plays in the interior?
In my eyes, it certainly plays a significant role. Although in reality, the selection of a switch is in 90% of cases not a very significant topic that investors would focus on. They invest more time in the careful selection of lighting than in the selection of switches. But that is a shame! Often, however, a high-quality switching program like Berker Serie 1930 made of fine porcelain, Berker Serie R.1 made of the finest leather, or K1 made of cool aluminum can complete and accentuate the artistic impression of the entire interior.
Do you have a favorite among home switches?
From the series of round switches, it is definitely Berker Serie Glas, timeless and absolutely elegant. Among classic collections, I would rather choose Berker Serie Q; you can't go wrong with this series; it fits simply anywhere. Berker Serie K. is also a beautiful contrast for those looking for something unusual, but at the same time prefer clear lines and forms. In addition, Berker Serie K. is available in various materials; for example, I consider matte anthracite to be very tasteful.
