For many years, leading world architects specify exterior blinds from Hunter Douglas based on their experiences with these blinds as the most effective and flexible solar and light control solution.

Using exterior blinds, the transmission of thermal energy into the interior is minimal, while the shading coefficient is lower than from all window shading. They also regulate light reflection and eliminate glare.

Exterior blinds can be lowered or raised depending on the weather. Their angle of inclination can be adjusted to allow natural daylight while blocking direct sunlight according to individual needs. In terms of user comfort, they guarantee absolute comfort in the environment.

SOLAR RADIATION CONTROL

Exterior blinds provide the most effective solar protection possible. Blinds with slats angled at 40° in front of clear insulating glass reduce the total solar energy transmission into the interior, allowing for significant reduction of air conditioning needs.

LIGHT CONTROL

  • Daylight Transmission
Daylight is "free" energy essential for the human body. Protection against solar heat inevitably requires preventing the transmission of sunlight into the interior. Hunter Douglas exterior blinds can be customized so that the level of daylight entering the building can vary according to individual requirements.

  • Distribution of Daylight
By adjusting the angle of the slats of Hunter Douglas exterior blinds, high levels of light intensity near the window are reduced while improving the light level in darker parts of the room by reflecting light from the ceiling.

  • Glare on Computer Monitors
Glare on computer monitors causes eye strain and decreasing work performance. Hunter Douglas exterior blinds reduce glare and provide better lighting conditions in the room.

LIGHT CONTROL BLINDS DUOLUXTM

DuoluxTM Light Control blinds offer an optimal solution for places where screens are used. In addition to excellent solar protection, this type of blind also offers great flexibility in setting the required slat angle, as it allows almost independent tilting of the top and bottom parts of the blind. This advantage provides optimal lighting conditions throughout the room.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

  • Slats
The profile is made from a special aluminum alloy. The slat is reinforced at the edge with a connection (except for 50, 60, and 80 mm flexible models). The primary coating material is Anorcoat®, replacing the basic coating system. The slat is then coated with polyester paint, and the final finish is a baked lacquer according to Hunter Douglas specifications.

  • Top Rail
Rolled galvanized steel U profile measuring 57 x 51 mm. Optionally: Extruded aluminum profile in natural anodized finish with cover and side caps.

■  Tilt and Lift/Lower Mechanism
The mechanism is made from durable plastic. The precise tilt mechanism prevents slat movement under windy conditions. In two different hanging loops of the slats, a covered stainless steel tilt spring is included, allowing smooth and accurate control. When lowering the blind, the slats are fully closed, and when raised, the slats are fully opened. Optionally: Automatic tilting device preset the slats to a 40° angle. The system is automatically reset during the raising of the blind.

■  Bottom Profile
Extruded aluminum profile in natural anodized or powder-coated finish, adapted to the shape of the slats, with plastic side caps equipped with guiding clips or guiding eyelet for cable guidance.

  • Side Guidance
-Type 50, 60, and 80 mm: stainless steel cable tensioned between the top rail and the cable holder.
-Type 60, 80, and 88 mm: extruded aluminum profile with an inserted plastic profile ensuring noise reduction. The guiding profile is in natural anodized or powder-coated finish. The ends of the slats are fitted with guiding pins.

  • Slat Suspension
-Type 50, 60, and 80 mm: UV and water-resistant, woven polyester ladders into which individual slats are inserted.
-Type 88 mm: UV and water-resistant, woven polyester tape. Slats are individually connected to the tape with special clips located on the edges of the slats reinforced with a connection.

  • Connecting Cord

UV and water-resistant, woven polyester cord connecting the ladder with the slats to the device. It ensures quick release and adjustment of the slat package.

  • Control
-Manual control with a crank: the crank shaft is connected to a self-braking gearbox via a universal joint, which is built into the top rail or its edge.
-Electric control: using an electric motor (220/240V - 50Hz), which is integrated into the top rail. The motor is protected against overheating and contamination.

The blinds can be controlled individually and/or grouped together by coupling. Group control of assemblies can also be added to cover an entire floor and/or facade.

Electrically controlled units can also be equipped with various controls such as a sun sensor, wind sensor, etc., which are connected to a fully automatic central control system.
