28th part of the lecture series Printed Architecture at the Jablonec bookstore Serius will take place on Friday, June 5, 2015, at 6:30 PM, featuring architects Ján Stempel and Jan Jakub Tesař. As part of a free series of lectures on housing, the lecture will focus on the book Czech Houses / České domy, which was prepared with Ondřej Beneš.
The book presents an author's selection of 33 realizations of family houses that were designed and constructed in the Czech Republic after 1989. The book primarily contains extensive photographic documentation, accompanied by explanatory and, to a lesser extent, evaluative comments on the individual buildings. The photographs are also supplemented with drawing documentation for each of the buildings, at the same scale, which allows for the comparison of the size and arrangement of individual layouts. The introductory text presents the contexts in which the houses were created. The book is supplemented with reviews by Eugen Asse, Ákos Moravánszký, and Adam Gebrian, which critically assess the state of Czech architecture of family houses. The book is in English with a Czech translation.
