VVP AVU is pleased to invite you on April 1, 2015, at 6:00 PM to a lecture from the series "Wednesdays at AVU," which this semester will focus on the history of exhibitions: MARTIN MAZANEC FILM PROJECTIONS AT FRIEDRICH KIESLER'S THEATER TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITIONS
“The theater is dead. Let’s prepare it a magnificent funeral.” Kiesler stated in the catalog for the New York exhibition at Steinway Hall (1926). This followed the exhibitions in Paris (1925) and Vienna (1924), where in the project for a new theater space, he replaced the curtain with a white projection screen. Friedrich Kiesler was an Austrian designer, architect, scenographer, and the youngest member of the De Stijl group.
