The series of lectures and discussions will conclude with a presentation by the Slovak architect Martin Jančok, who focuses on creation and research in the field of contemporary architecture and urbanism. From 2002 to 2009, he worked at the studio zerozero, after which he founded his own studio PLURAL. He participated, among other things, in the exhibition of the Czech and Slovak pavilions at the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2009. In his lecture, he will share mainly his experiences with the project of transforming the Žilina synagogue into a kunsthalle – he will highlight the pros and cons of an alternative approach to heritage restoration.
