The process of transforming brutalist high-rises from the 70s and 80s in the center of Brussels by the renowned Flemish studio 51N4E will be the topic of the lecture by Dieter Leyssen, an architect from the office founded by Johan Anrys and Freek Persyn in 1998. They have been nominated several times for the Mies van der Rohe Awards, among others for the revitalization of a square in Tirana, Albania. They are engaged in large urban projects (for example in Bordeaux, Brussels, Istanbul), the conversion of old factory halls into cultural spaces, and smaller projects including private housing.
