Jan Haubelt: Group Ládví November 6 at 18:00 lecture Antiquarian and Club Fiducia Ostrava
The lecture is part of the Kukačka festival.
The Group Ládví is an artistic activity in public space, operating at the intersection of art and public benefit activity. The core of the group’s creation in the beautification association Ládví is public benefit work, thus returning to art something that has apparently faded away, and bringing individual activism into the realm of volunteering. This points to the weaknesses of today’s “centralized” charity, which has lost local sensitivity. Besides behaving like a civic association for a nicer home, it also deals with aesthetic opinions and habits that are not so distant. The inconspicuousness and almost insignificance of their small gesture have a greater impact than an illustrative gesture that has become a norm for democratic society.
