On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at 3:00 PM, Professor Ita Heinze-Greenberg, an extraordinary professor at ETH Zurich and a globally recognized expert on 19th and 20th-century architecture and specialist on architect Erich Mendelsohn, will give a lecture in room A118 at the Faculty of Architecture, VUT in Brno.
Prof. Dr. Ita Heinze-Greenberg (*1956) is a university educator, research worker at ETH Zurich, and an extraordinary professor at ETH Zurich. Prof. Heinze-Greenberg first introduced herself to the Czech audience in 2009 through the Ostrava Cabinet of Architecture on the occasion of the exhibition "Erich Mendelsohn. Dynamics and Function, Visions of a Cosmopolitan Architect", which was held at the House of Art in Ostrava, where she was commissioned by IFA Stuttgart to fulfill curatorial duties during the installation and opening of the exhibition. Ita Heinze-Greenberg visited Ostrava for the second time to celebrate the launch of her book "Erich Mendelsohn …from Life/Biographical", which was published in Czech and German versions by the Cabinet of Architecture in 2012. The most recent visit to Ostrava took place on October 19, 2015, when as part of a seminar excursion of the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture at ETH Zurich, titled "From the Hall of the Century to Villa Tugendhat / A Journey through Poland and the Czech Republic", she introduced a group of 25 students and teachers to the treasures of modern architecture in Wrocław, Gliwice, Ostrava, Zlín, and Brno.
