Žďár nad Sázavou - The town hall in Žďár nad Sázavou is preparing for next year the reconstruction of the interior spaces of the cinema Vysočina. This will include the replacement of seats and the creation of barrier-free entrances for visitors. The project, with an estimated cost of 14.4 million crowns, is currently selecting a contractor. Construction work is expected to take place from February to the end of May, said mayor Zdeněk Navrátil (Žďár - living city) to reporters today.
The cinema building is approximately fifty years old. "The crucial issue for us is the electrical installation and accessibility, these are things we must do," the mayor stated. Other modifications will contribute to greater comfort for viewers. After the seat replacement, they will also be able to choose boxes with tables. The social facilities will be improved, and thanks to the modification of the wall linings, the acoustics in the hall will also be enhanced.
The estimated value of the contract includes a thirty percent reserve for possible additional work. However, the mayor hopes that the price in the contractor competition will drop below ten million crowns. The city received 350,000 CZK from the State Fund for Cinematography for the seat replacement.
For investments, 20 percent of the total expenditure of 450 million crowns is allocated in the draft budget of Žďár nad Sázavou for 2017. In addition to the cinema reconstruction, other larger investment projects include improvements to facilities for football players and tennis players and the initiation of the revitalization of the outdoor spaces of the Vodojem housing estate. The construction of networks for new residential buildings in the Klafar area is also expected to continue. Another four projects totaling 600,000 CZK, aimed at improving public spaces, were proposed to the budget by the residents themselves. The budget will be approved by the Žďár city council on Thursday.
