Zlín - The mourning ceremony hall in Vsetín will undergo reconstruction this year at a cost of approximately 20 million crowns. The architecturally interesting building, which dates back to the early 1970s, is in very poor technical condition after thirty years of use, and due to inadequate thermal insulation, temperatures inside can reach up to fifty degrees Celsius in the summer. This information was provided to ČTK by Eva Stejskalová, the spokesperson for the Vsetín town hall. According to her, a complete reconstruction of the building will take place in the coming months. "Currently, the project documentation has already been prepared, the building permit for the reconstruction of the gas connection is also valid, and in June there will be a competition for the contractor. We expect that the project will be completed this year, including the repair of the road damaged by the necessary excavations for the connections,” said Vsetín's deputy mayor Jaromír Kudlík. During the repair, workers will build a completely new metal structure, as the existing one is already corroded, as well as new cooling, heating, waterproofing, an elevator, ventilation, and a canopy for the outdoor stairs. According to Stejskalová, city representatives are currently looking for a place where civil funerals will take place during the repairs. "We are negotiating with representatives of funeral services and churches. We will definitely secure alternative spaces," Kudlík added.
