The government has postponed the construction of the R35, as the route of the road is not clear

Pardubice - The government has removed the expressway R35 from the transport construction plan until 2013, which is to become an alternative to the overloaded D1 motorway. According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Transport Karel Hanzelka, there is no approved complete territorial plan with the route of the new road in the Pardubice Region, reported today's Pardubice Mladá fronta Dnes.
   "We are not saying that work will take place on it by 2013, but the route must be clear first,” said the spokesperson.
    Regional councilors promise that by spring next year the route will be clear. The opposition claims that if it weren't for disputes, the expressway could have been built several years earlier.
    The route of the R35 road between Vysoké Mýto and Mohelnice is contentious. In particular, the ODS party advocated for the northern variant, which would help the towns in the Orlickoústecko area. Last year, regional councilors approved the southern route in December and received a government promise to fund the construction of access roads to the Ústí nad Orlicí region. However, the regional councilors immediately cast doubt on the southern route.
