Vrchlabí (Trutnovsko) - Krkonošské Center for Environmental Education, which is currently being constructed by builders in Vrchlabí in the Trutnov region, is expected to start operating in September. The Krkonošsko National Park Administration (KRNAP) will offer various events for the public in the center. CTK was informed today by the spokesperson of KRNAP, Radek Drahný.

Construction of the center building, costing approximately 90 million crowns, began near the park administration building in July 2011. "The construction is proceeding according to schedule, the roof is in place, and the builders are now working on the interiors," said Drahný. The low-energy building will offer a lecture hall with a capacity of 80 people, a library, a classroom, exhibition spaces, and social facilities upon completion.
According to Drahný, the new center will provide environmental education for all generations. "The key group for us is schoolchildren and students and young people, but there will also be events for the general public, various lectures, programs for mothers with children," said Drahný. According to him, similar spaces have been lacking for KRNAP.
Krkonošsko National Park will celebrate its 50th anniversary since its establishment this May. The KRNAP administration has prepared the release of publications, a summary exhibition, and a public celebration with a concert on May 17.
