Mnichovo Hradiště (Mladoboleslavsko) - The construction of a new community center worth 60 million crowns is beginning in Mnichovo Hradiště. The work will last about a year; it is the largest and most expensive project of the city this year, with nearly 20 million crowns in construction costs being supported by an EU grant.
The construction was ceremoniously launched on Wednesday. In the single complex of the community center, there will be facilities for a school kitchen and a dining room serving the nearby elementary school and neighboring kindergarten, a children's and youth club, and in the future, other organizations focused on children, youth, and families. The center will also include registered social services. "A unique building will be created in the city. It will be modern and architecturally bold," said Mayor Ondřej Lochman (We Live for Hradiště).
Along with the construction of the community center, the city will also revitalize Mírová Street, where the building will be located. The revitalization has already started; in 2018, a transformer station that had to give way to the project was relocated, and the old building of the children's and youth club was subsequently demolished, where the new center will be built. After the construction is completed, the city will also demolish the current food distribution building.
Mnichovo Hradiště is a town with approximately 8,500 inhabitants. This year, it is managing income and expenses of approximately 273 million crowns.
