Prague - In 45 Czech and Moravian cities, Architecture Day is taking place today and on Sunday, offering guided walks and tours of architectural monuments and contemporary buildings. Young architects and theorists will introduce participants to the architectural, landscape, and urban contexts of the given location.

A total of around seventy events are prepared. In Prague, for example, interested parties can choose from 16 events, and the range of speakers and guides includes almost forgotten German-speaking architects and their buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries to the phenomenon of Prague's housing estates.
All walks are intergenerational, selected events are suitable for parents with children, some will be specifically for cyclists, and for those looking for a challenge, there are full-day hiking trips focused on architecture. Most guided tours will last two hours, with some offering the possibility to enter interiors.
Several walks, for example in Klatovy, will be led by the young generation of chief city architects. The organizers of Architecture Day, which was attended by more than 3,000 people during its premiere last year, aim to present contemporary architecture as well as draw attention to controversial realizations and plans.
