In the center of Ostrava, a new department store will be built

The joint proposal of Ostravica fashion and Amádeus real completes a cohesive block in the center of Moravská Ostrava in the vicinity of the Ostravica department store. After realization, a unified, multifunctional complex with commercial spaces, offices, services, cafes, and restaurants, as well as a dance hall, should be created. The city's intention to revive housing in its central part will be fulfilled by residential units situated on the upper floors. These will be oriented towards 28. října Street and will offer views of the Ostrava skyline. A distinct feature will be the grassy roof terraces.
       The joint proposal of Ostravica fashion and Amádeus real brings comfortable social facilities and underground garages with a capacity of 320 spaces to the city center. The connection of the new block with the old one near the historical center of the city will create a significant intersection of the main pedestrian routes connecting the city center into one continuous whole. Dr. E. Beneš Square will become part of a large pedestrian zone in the city center, connecting the historical part of the city with the newly emerging section in Karolina.
       The entire project is backed by three companies. The investor is Amádeus real, which has built shopping centers in Prague, Brno, Liberec, and Ústí nad Labem in recent years. Ostravica fashion played a crucial role in saving the Fashion House Ostravica when unprofessional construction modifications by the previous owner led to the collapse of part of the ceilings, threatening its complete collapse. The architectural design comes from the ProjektStudio atelier, which has already realized many buildings in Ostrava and last year received an honorable mention at the House of the Year competition for the reconstruction of the "F" building of the Moravian-Silesian Regional Office in Ostrava. Currently, it is working on a project for a multifunctional city stadium in Ostrava, for example.
