A new Rajniš observation tower Máminka has been built in Hudlice

Hudlice (Berounsko) - A new lookout tower called Máminka has risen on Krušná Mountain near Hudlice in the Beroun region. The structure, designed by architects from the Huť architektury studio, was built at an altitude of 606 meters on the site of a former wooden triangulation tower. It measures 33 meters, and nearly one hundred steps lead to its top. The official opening is planned for Friday, Nicola Fišerová from the regional office informed ČTK today.
"When I was thinking about Máminka, I remembered my childhood and a triangulation point that I liked to climb. For its construction, we used a three-sided structure that is simple and rational," said architect Martin Rajniš, where he drew inspiration for the shape of Máminka.
Hudlice searched for a suitable financing method for a long time, and finally managed to obtain European funds for the construction as part of a project to enhance the attractiveness of Hudlicko as a tourist destination. In addition to the lookout tower, the funding will also support an educational trail, the acquisition of furnishings for the cottage of linguist and national awakener Josef Jungmann, and the electrification and reinforcement of access paths in the Hudlické Rocks. The total cost of the project amounts to 6.7 million crowns.
The lookout tower stands on land owned by Lesy ČR, which also contributed to its construction. Visitors can see the Krušné Hory or Brdy from Máminka. "On a clear day, the 90 kilometers distant Klínovec will also be visible, as well as the Krkonošsko, Ještěd, or Šumava," said Jiří Makovec, the regional director of Lesy ČR from Brandýs nad Labem.
In central Bohemia, the Bohdanka lookout tower was recently built in Bohdanč near Kutná Hora, another similar structure was opened on Kaňk Hill near Kutná Hora, or at Březák near Lbosín in the Benešov region. Recently, the former Drtina lookout tower on Besedná Hill near Chotilsko in the Příbram region was also renovated.
