Tábor

Tábor – Tábor will start building a sports hall in the spring for more than 150 million crowns. The construction of the complex on U stadionu Míru street will take approximately a year and a half. The complex will replace the current hall, which is 90 years old. This was reported by the spokesperson of the Tábor city hall, Luboš Dvořák.

"This is a significant step forward. Besides the hall itself, the fact that a cohesive sports campus will be created in the area around Kvapilova street will be beneficial. It will serve not only the organized sports community but also the active public, especially in the afternoons," said Jan Benda, the managing director of the Sports Facilities of the City of Tábor.

The structure of the hall will consist of a field measuring 20 by 40 meters with run-off zones and the possibility of dividing it into smaller fields. The ceiling will be ten meters high, and the stands will provide seating for 500 spectators. The complex will also include a 90-meter long athletic tunnel. "In my opinion, the hall construction project is definitely next in line. We have invested money in the reconstruction of the swimming pool, and more is aimed at the Senior Center. This would be the third major project that the city needs," said the mayor of Tábor, Štěpán Pavlík (Tábor 2020).

The city also plans to install photovoltaic panels on the roof of the hall in the future. These should improve the energy self-sufficiency of energy-intensive sports complexes, including the adjacent swimming pool.
