In Brno's Zábrdovice district, a new residential project is emerging with an investment of over a quarter of a billion crowns. It will offer a 360° penthouse and a new concept of apartment purchase with interiors tailored specifically for the buyer. The development and investment company Domoplan has begun construction of the Hvězdová residential project in Brno's Zábrdovice. It will feature 54 apartments, including a penthouse with a 360° view of the entire city from the top floor of the building. The company is introducing a completely new living concept to the Czech Republic, known as the Turn Key solution, where the owner also purchases a customized interior along with the apartment. The total investment will exceed a quarter of a billion crowns. Project completion is scheduled for the end of 2021. “The Hvězdová apartment building is located in the very center of the city, not far from the Brno north town hall, and completes an unfinished urban block of tenement houses from the pre-war period. At the same time, it forms an entry gate to Hvězdička park and further into the newly emerging residential complex ‘intra-block French.’ In the context of Brno, this location has a unique character,” explains the designer, architect Roman Gale. Hvězdová is designed on an L-shaped floor plan and has both of its outer façades adjacent to the greenery of urban parks. The recessed sixth and seventh floors create a rooftop landscape of residential terraces with unique views of the Brno skyline. The residence will offer diverse apartment layouts—from smaller 1+kk units in the lower floors of the building, through spacious apartments in the upper floors, to a penthouse with a rooftop terrace and a view of the entire Brno, covering an area of 150 m². In addition to its unconventional façade, which feels rough to the touch, as if carved from volcanic tuff, Domoplan is bringing a completely new living concept to the Czech Republic—a “Turn Key” solution that offers buyers the purchase of an apartment, including a customized interior package. The company entrusted the design of their packages to the London-based studio Identity Design, led by the Czech-Slovak duo Dagmar Zvoníčková and Ivana Linderová. “The packages provide owners with the opportunity to save time, gain complete interior equipment, and achieve a more advantageous price than if they were to purchase individual elements directly from suppliers. This very unconventional solution for Czech conditions gives clients a unique option—to arrange the apartment themselves or simply hand over the interior furnishing to experienced designers,” explain the concept owners of the Identity Design studio. Domoplan, which has long collaborated with Czech architects and designers, will offer items for the apartments, such as lights from Lucie Koldová and Brokis, terraces designed by Ateliér Krejčiříkovi, or interior elements from Lino Design. With its functionality and purposefulness, Hvězdová references Brno's interwar construction tradition. Thanks to open layouts and generous glazing, the apartments provide an above-standard amount of natural light throughout the year and in all weather conditions.
