Prague – The leadership of Prague 4 disagrees with the design of the developer project Ekorezidence in Braník. According to representatives of the district, it is urbanistically unsuitable, will hinder the usability of the surrounding plots, and will worsen traffic in the streets of old Braník. Jiří Bigas, the spokesperson, communicated this to ČTK today. The construction between Bezová Street, the Southern Connector, and Kunratický Stream has been approved by the construction office of Prague 4. The district administration has filed an objection, which has now been rejected by the office. The project in Braník belongs to the company Ekospol. ČTK is seeking a statement from them. The leadership of Prague 4 has also long been fighting against the planned construction of a skyscraper at the corner of Budějovická and Vyskočilova streets.

"The intended construction is not in accordance with the requirement of the building law for achieving sustainable development of the area. The spatial arrangement of the individual buildings is inadequate, as their layout and orientation do not relate to the existing development in this part of Braník,” stated councilor Patrik Opa (ODS).

The councilors of the city district do not agree with the negative stance of the office. "Prague 4 will use its legal options and appeal the issued decision to a higher authority. I am convinced that this construction plan can indeed be harmful to Braník, and I believe we will convince the city hall during the appeal process," Opa said.

According to the council, the investor did not consult the plan to build a residential complex with the district or local residents. "Only after the district's call did they present their project at the meeting of the urban development commission and subsequently at a meeting with residents in Braník. Unfortunately, only at a time when the complete documentation had already been submitted to the construction office for discussion," said Bigas. The comments and requests from the district and residents for adjustments to the plan reportedly went unanswered.

In Braník, 289 apartments are to be created with 173 parking spaces. The buildings will connect to Bezová, which, according to the council, is unsuitable for the increased traffic burden. This is said to threaten a traffic and parking collapse, increase the ecological burden on the kindergarten and surrounding playgrounds, and the project does not relate to the surrounding area around the stream.
