Praha 1 has objections to the reconstruction of the building in Na Poříčí street

Prague - The Prague 1 City Hall has reservations about the planned reconstruction of the former Czech Typography building on Na Poříčí Street. According to the investor's vision, it will become a commercial and community center. However, the councilors of the first city district claim that the environmental conditions in the area would deteriorate, spokesman for the city hall Jan Šlajs informed CTK today.
    According to him, the submitted study lacks a proposal for a traffic solution, for example. According to the plan, the center is supposed to include about 500 underground parking spaces. "The demands on traffic are too high and it is not possible to bring in more cars to this area," Šlajs stated.
    He added that the future commercial center is supposed to be heated by a gas boiler, which will emit nitrogen oxides. The levels of this substance are reportedly already on the edge of permissible limits in this area. "I will fight hard for changes that will limit the release of any harmful substances into the air," Šlajs quoted Deputy Mayor Jana Příhodová (ODS).
    The Prague 1 City Hall does not want the building to be used as a commercial center. It demands that the assessment of the project's impact on the environment be completed, including a public discussion.
