Pardubice - In the new modern apartment buildings in Litomyšl, there are serious defects. The worst is a building that was completed for the town hall last year by První litomyšlská stavební according to the design of the renowned architect Josef Pleskot. The architect won second place in one of the categories of the New Home competition for the design last year. This was reported today by Mladá fronta Dnes in its supplement for the Pardubice region.

Residents are complaining about mold, cracked walls, leaking water, poor heating, and freezing water pipes in the basements. Due to the falling plaster from the ceiling, some residents had to temporarily move out. In the summer, it’s extremely hot in the upper floors of the building, and when it rains, water drips from the ceilings.
According to town hall officials, the defects may be the fault of the designer and the construction company. However, repairs, according to the residents, are dragging on. "The defects must be consulted with the supplier, designer, and architect, so it sometimes seems that the timelines for solutions are too long," claims the town hall.
Problems with modern constructions in Litomyšl began in the winter three years ago. At that time, the original roof of the athletics stadium's grandstand at Černá Hora began to lean under the weight of the snow. Much more serious was the roof failure of the municipal sports hall, whose structure could not withstand the weight of the snow this winter and sagged.
