Pardubice – The Pardubice Region will continue to support the repairs of Larisch Villa in Pardubice, also known as the Zámeček, where the Nazis imprisoned, interrogated, and executed residents of the village of Ležáky during the Heydrich era. The Czechoslovak Legionary Community will contribute an additional five million korunas for the reconstruction. In previous years, the region has already provided nearly 25 million korunas for repairs, said Zuzana Nováková from the governor's office in a press release. Other monuments in the region will also receive financial support from the region.
The repairs of Larisch Villa have been supported by the regional government since 2016. "The first contribution was provided for the remediation of wooden parts affected by wood rot. We then continued with the removal of the disaster and the re-opening of the tower, the repair of the façade of the main building's wing, and the completion of the memorial rooms in the basement. The current contribution should serve to finish the repair of windows with the replacement of external casements and the completion of repairs of the remaining façades so that the building is repaired from all visual perspectives," stated Governor Netolický.
The costs for repairs and exhibitions were previously estimated at around 130 million korunas. However, due to inflation and the rising costs of construction work and materials, these estimates are increasing; the reconstruction is approximately halfway done. Pardubice is also contributing to the repairs, having provided around 17 million korunas so far. This year, the legionnaires should receive about two million korunas from the Ministry of Culture,
A total of 20 million korunas has been allocated in the provincial budget this year to assist owners of significant monuments in the region. Among other things, a grant will also be provided for the Cimburk Castle near Městečko Trnávky in the Svitavy region. It is owned by the municipality, which is repairing the entrance gate and the forecourt. The regional administration has also approved, for instance, 200,000 korunas for the replacement of the gutter system of the Church of Saint Archangel Michael in Chrudim.
