Pardubice - The reconstruction of the summer stadium and its surroundings in Pardubice will cost approximately 300 million crowns. The city council is counting on state subsidies and private investments. A sports complex is set to be created with a football stadium for the second league, additional fields, a hotel, a parking house, and a riverside promenade. This was stated by the deputy mayor Helena Dvořáčková (ANO). "When the actual reconstruction can begin is primarily a question of money. The city will definitely not be the main investor," said the deputy. According to Dvořáčková, the football association could contribute to the construction of the stadium, and the hotel and parking house will present opportunities for private investors. A study has been completed and is awaiting public discussion. The council members must then approve it so that work on the project can begin. Last November, the possibility of cooperation between the city and the football association was confirmed by the chairman of FK Pardubice, Vladimír Pitter. The association could financially support the investment together with the Ministry of Education, Pitter stated on the club's website. The study addresses the area of the stadium, the space of the demolished ČSTV hall, and the site of the former meat processing plant. The summer stadium should retain the grandstand and the Gate of Warriors, which were designed in the 1930s by architect Karel Řepa. The football stadium, with a capacity of 4,600 spectators, would have parameters suitable for second league matches after the reconstruction. Two additional fields are planned for U Stadionu Street, intended for sports clubs and the public. "The architects are also planning a children's playground or a space for an open-air cinema and similar events," added Dvořáčková.
