CZECH TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY IN PRAGUE
Mgr. Eva Šmídová Chancellor
Prague, June 21, 2010 Ref.: 76/51911-10/R
Subject: Open letter to the Rector of the Czech Technical University regarding the development of the CTU campus in Prague
Dear Architect,
One of the tools for processing development intentions at CTU in Prague is the Investment Development Master Plan updated according to current needs and the availability of investment resources. The mentioned Investment Development Master Plan of the Czech Technical University has been prepared as a conceptual document, which is presented by the university management. This is obliged to ensure the systematic development of its material and technical base to fulfill the objectives contained in the long-term plan of educational, scientific, research, development, innovative, artistic, and other creative activities of CTU in Prague. Its regular updates are duly discussed by the bodies of the public university at the level of the Rector’s Advisory Board, Academic Senates of individual faculties and components, the Academic Senate and the Board of Trustees of CTU, and is further presented to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. This legislative procedure has also been maintained in our case, and its results were presented without remarks at the Prague 6 Municipal District, where the Dejvice campus is located.
We would like to point out that the rector is therefore not obliged to respond to signature actions documented in the manner that were attachments to your letter.
We inform you that, on the contrary, being aware of the duty to educate experts in the field of architecture and construction, who are worthy successors of the engineering and artistic traditions of our nation, consistently strives to ensure that its own facilities exhibit the highest possible aesthetic, technical, operational, and user qualities. Therefore, he acted promptly on this matter on June 7, 2010, with representatives of both professional chambers, ČKA and ČKAIT, and the result is an agreement on a future consensual approach regarding public procurement issues and their applications at the public university.
Sincerely
Šmídová [signature – editorial note]
