Prague - The Prague shopping center Máj has permanently closed the indoor children's playground Lvíčkov as of today. The company Amadeus Real Estate (ARE), which owns Máj, informed about this on the Facebook of the playground. According to the servers e15 and iDNES, the reason for the closure is low attendance. Due to the lack of a building permit, the shopping center Máj had previously canceled the children's playground on the roof of the building.

"The attempt to revitalize the center of Prague with activities for families with children, for which there was public demand, has proven to be more challenging to fulfill in reality. Therefore, Máj will continue to focus on entertainment for older children and adults, in addition to the stores, services, and food court operated here," stated the company's message on Facebook. According to it, ARE is currently working on a new project that will utilize the space of the children's playground Lvíčkov.

Information from Facebook also reveals that an online ticket for a child from one year old was 450 crowns from Monday to Friday, and on weekends and holidays, it increased to 550 crowns. For adults, the online ticket was always 150 crowns. When purchased on-site, the ticket price for both children and adults was 40 crowns more expensive. Children under one year had free admission.

The shopping center Máj in the center of Prague opened to the public on June 24 of this year after approximately two years of reconstruction. The renovation cost 4.5 billion crowns. In its nine floors, Máj offers shops, restaurants, entertainment centers, and a rooftop observation terrace. Before its opening, two several-meter moving butterflies with a body resembling a Spitfire fighter by artist David Černý sparked controversy, which the owners installed on the building's facade. The interiors of the entertainment centers on the upper floors of the shopping center later faced criticism from some architects and parts of the public after the opening.
