The competition Building of the Year in the Zlin Region has seen a record interest this year

Zlín - A record 35 buildings completed last year will be evaluated by the organizers of the Construction of the Year 2006 competition in the Zlín Region. This is double the number compared to the previous year. For the first time this year, investors and contractors also utilized the category reserved for family houses. This was reported to ČTK by the competition spokesperson Jana Bubeníková.
The competition is divided into seven categories, and it also includes a competition for the best student work. An expert jury will select a project from the best buildings in each category that will receive the Grand Prix. The award, which was not granted last year, has previously been awarded to the reconstruction of the Baťa skyscraper.
The competition is organized for the fifth year by the Regional Construction Company with the Union of Entrepreneurs in Construction, the Czech Chamber of Architects, the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians in Construction, and the Zlín Region. The award ceremony will take place in May in Zlín at the venue of the Small Scene.
