The Stalingrad Square is an architectural workshop for architecture students from faculties in the Czech Republic (Fa VUT Brno, FA ČVUT, UMPRUM, FAU TUL Liberec), focusing on the design of public spaces in the Stalingrad residential area. There will be two lectures by tutors, presenting current methods of analysis and design.
Participants will work on-site for 3+2 days and subsequently refine their assignments to be presented to the town of Žďár. The project presentation will involve both expert and general public participation. The possibilities of analyzing and predicting public space design will be tested, as well as how to connect with the architectural language of Sorely, typical for the entire Stalingrad area, with a focus on designing furniture with a specific output. Selected furniture will be printed using 3DCP technology.
