Jihlava - This year, new bike paths will be added in Jihlava, Telč, and Náměšť nad Oslavou in the Vysočina region. The municipalities have secured a promised subsidy for projects worth approximately 20 million crowns. In total, they will construct two kilometers of asphalt paths. Telč and Náměšť will thus gain the first sections of bike paths meant for both inline skating and pedestrians, which they plan to extend further. This information comes from data provided by the municipalities to ČTK and information published by the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure (SFDI).
The largest share of funds in Vysočina was obtained by the regional city of Jihlava from the state fund, which will extend its network of bike paths by an additional two sections measuring a total of about one kilometer. The costs for 635 meters of the route between Havlíčkova and Helenínská streets are estimated by the municipality to be around 11 million crowns before the tender for the contractor.
This new path will connect to the bike paths near the U Jánů bridge and will run along the Jihlava River to the confluence with the Jihlávka, where a footbridge will be built for it. "It will end at the bridge on Mlýnská street," said Jihlava city spokesperson Radek Tulis. The second new section of the bike path will measure 350 meters, with estimated costs around 3.7 million crowns. It will connect to a section of the R01 bike path next to the road to Pístova.
This year, the Náměšť municipality will build a 600-meter long bike path on the right bank of the Oslava River. It will start at the Baroque bridge and will follow the river's course. "It is one of the most beautiful parts of the Oslava River, offering a typical view of the town," said Mayor Vladimír Měrka. For the first part of the bike path in the town, the municipality will spend almost four million crowns, including the subsidy. Gradually, they plan to build additional sections. Once completed, the bike path should measure more than five kilometers and will run along the river through the entire Náměšť.
Thanks to a state subsidy, Telč will build a 300-meter long bike path on Batelovská street, with costs exceeding one million crowns. "This is an important first step for the realization of a further network of bike paths in Telč," stated Vladimír Švec from the city development department. The city has already applied for a subsidy for another 3.5-kilometer bike path named Lipky in the European IROP program. Another similarly long section, which the municipality is now preparing for construction, will provide cyclists and inline skaters a safe route to Volevčice and Studnice.
According to regional data, around 100 kilometers of bike paths, which are special roads for cyclists, have been constructed so far in the Vysočina region.
