Ostrava - New floating docks will be constructed on the water bodies in the Moravian-Silesian Region in the coming year. Recently built viewing docks at three locations have attracted further interest. In the next season, they will appear at the reservoir in Český Těšín in the Karviná district, Těrlická and Žermanická reservoirs, as well as at Slezská Harta in the cadastral area of Nová Pláň in the Bruntál district. This was stated by Governor Jan Krkoška (ANO).

"All of these water bodies have significant recreational potential. The region supports their development, and we are trying to make these locations even more attractive for visitors and tourists. Therefore, we have also acquired an architectural study and project documentation for the construction of floating docks, which can be placed on these reservoirs. The documentation is not tied solely to specific water structures," stated Krkoška. The region will pay 9.7 million crowns for the construction of four new docks.

The dock at the Hrabina reservoir in Český Těšín will be the first element of the overall revitalization of the reservoir and its surroundings, which the city of Český Těšín plans. "Although the reservoir is not primarily intended for swimming, but rather for walking, relaxation, or sports activities, the floating dock will find its use here. The docks are designed as viewing platforms, intended for sitting, relaxation, and observing the surrounding nature," said the region's spokesperson Nikola Birklenová. The city wants to create relaxation and sports zones by the reservoir, build bike paths, a mini-golf course, an open-air cinema, or food stalls.

The floating dock at the Žermanická reservoir will be built with the help of the region by the municipality of Lučina in the Frýdek-Místek district. "Together with the planned bike path, the construction of which will start at the beginning of next year, it will increase the attractiveness of this water reservoir for visitors from the surrounding areas as well as from farther locations and support the development of tourism in this area," the spokesperson stated.

In Těrlická reservoir, the municipality of Těrlicko in the Karviná district is interested in building a dock. "The goal of the municipality is for the reservoir to once again become a sought-after location for visitors from other parts of the Czech Republic and nearby foreign countries. This will be supported not only by the new floating dock but also by a bike path, the construction of which is scheduled to begin next year. The bike path will connect existing roads around the reservoir and create a complete circuit around the entire water area," Birklenová specified.

The last dock will appear at the Slezská Harta reservoir on the border of the municipalities of Leskovec nad Moravicí and Razová. In addition to relaxation, it will serve for mooring small vessels and entering the water. Floating docks already exist in the Větřkovická reservoir, Karvinské moře, and Slezská Harta.
