Prostřední Bečva - The new upper station of the cable car is already in operation at Pustevny in the Beskids. The investment cost over 20 million crowns. The trial operation began over the weekend, everything is going smoothly, and it is transitioning seamlessly into normal operation, said Dita Korčák Hrtusová, a representative of the center, to ČTK today.
The original building was in poor condition, which is why it had to be demolished in May last year. "The old building served as the upper station of the cable car from Trojanovice to Pustevny since 1937. It used to have a return wheel, and over time, additional parts were added, creating a ski rental, a bistro, and restrooms," stated Korčák Hrtusová.
The new station is a modern structure made of stone, wood, and glass. "It is the work of Kamil Mrva, an architect from Kopřivnice, who has been collaborating with the municipality of Trojanovice, a co-owner of the cable car, for many years, and is involved in the design of the Radegast Beskids project," said Korčák Hrtusová.
The new building includes ticket offices, a ski and scooter rental, and public restrooms, with a souvenir shop expected to open in September. A large part of the upper floor is taken up by a self-service bistro.
The upper station of the cable car was designed and constructed so that it could serve a new gondola lift in the future without further interventions. "Currently, the project for the zoning decision and building permit is being processed," informed the representative of the center. The cable car transports about 200,000 people annually, including skiers and hikers.
