Kelč (Vsetínsko) - The town hall of Kelč in the Vsetín region is preparing an expensive renovation of the square located in the heritage zone for next year. The restoration of the worn-down town center, which will include renewing the furnishings and re-paving the entire area, is estimated to cost up to 30 million crowns. This was stated by the mayor of Kelč, Stanislav Pitrun. The start of the work will therefore depend on the ability to secure some funding from European funds.
According to Pitrun, it will be necessary to repair the old electrical wiring and water pipes, replace outdated public lighting, and also update other amenities in the square. The existing damaged asphalt surface will also be replaced. The square is located in the historical zone of the town near the castle, and according to the requests of preservationists, it will be given new stone paving, likely from sandstone or granite. The current parking system in the square is also set to change.
"If we manage to obtain grants from the regional operational program, we would like to work on this next year," said the mayor. He added that the renovation of the square could begin as early as April or May next year. Construction work will last approximately one year.
