Lysá nad Labem – Lysá nad Labem in Nymburk is renovating the building of the historic town hall. A loft extension is currently being built here, which will also include a hall for council meetings. The costs will reach 30 million crowns, and the city has received a subsidy of ten million, said mayor Karel Otava (ČSSD) to ČTK.

The loft extension will include a hall with social facilities. "This is a long-prepared project," said Otava. In addition to the council members, various associations will use the new loft extension for holding general meetings, and chess players will also have a refuge here where they can organize tournaments. The loft extension will also serve for lectures or concerts.

The city started the renovation of the town hall four years ago when the ceremonial hall on the ground floor was being renovated. "We followed that up by building a tourist information center," said Otava. The information center was established in the former municipal police station, which moved nearby to a building it shares with the state police.
