On January 14, 2014, five years after the death of architect Jan Kaplický, a composed evening dedicated to this personality will take place. Documentary filmmaker Olga Špátová, architects AI -DESIGN - Jura Bečička and Petr Vágner /"Rejnok"/, evangelical priest Daniel Smetana /Lisbon Church/, Francesco Augusto Razetto from the NF Eleutheria /Kaplicky Prize/, architect Václav Aulický, gallery owner Zdeněk Sklenář, and Eliška Kaplicky Fuchsová /NF Kaplicky Centre/ will speak about the work, visions, and world of this architect. Completed and planned buildings will be presented, as well as the current activities of the Kaplicky Centre foundation, whose aim is to preserve the legacy of Jan Kaplický and the Future Systems brand. The intent of the event is to honor the memory of this world-renowned architect and to foster discussion and new impulses in architecture in general. During the film screening, comments will be shared by David Vávra, the daughter of Pavel Bobek Klára Mixová, and others, primarily regarding the topic of renaming the street Československé armády to Jan Kaplický Boulevard, according to the wishes of his longtime friend Pavel Bobek. During the evening, an Honorary Recognition from Mensa Czech Republic will also be awarded to Jan Kaplický.
The event is based on an independent initiative and takes place with the support of the Kaplicky Centre foundation.
The composed evening will be held on January 14, 2014, at 5:00 PM, in the large hall of the City Library in Prague at Mariánské náměstí, free admission.
