Do you own an old house that requires renovation? It is said that it is better to tear down the house and build a new one. Come and see for yourself that this is not the case. The Veronica Ecological Institute has prepared a seminar for you titled “How to Renovate a House to Passive Standard”.
On Friday, October 26, 2012, from 14:00 to 17:00, a seminar will take place at the Brno Exhibition Center, which will show you that after renovation, your house can have a heat consumption up to ten times lower than it is now. The seminar “How to Renovate a House to Passive Standard” is part of the accompanying program of the exhibition Passive Houses 2012.

PROGRAM
1. Erwin Schwarzmueller, AEE Austria: Renovation of a 100-year-old house in Lower Austria - ventilation and heating (lecture with translation)
2. Jan Hollan: Rehabilitation of the basement and foundations of a house using excess solar system energy (AdMas project VUT Brno)
3. Presentation of the Czech adaptation of the book Repairs of Old Houses to Passive Standard
4. Guided tour of the Passive Houses 2012 exhibition

The lectures by Erwin Schwarzmueller and Jan Hollan are popular versions of lectures that will also be presented in the professional program of the international conference Passive Houses 2012.

When: On Friday, October 26, from 2 PM to 5 PM
Venue: BVV - Pavilion A2, Exhibition Center 1, Brno
The seminar is aimed at the general public, and entry to the seminar and the exhibition is free. No prior registration is required.

The seminar is part of the project “New Standards for Old Houses” supported by the Haus der Zukunft program of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology, and with the kind cooperation of the Passive House Center.
