Choceň - Choceň in the Orlickoústecko region will begin renovations of the space in front of the train station in the spring, which is also adjacent to the bus station. A transfer terminal will be created there. The project includes the demolition of the former hotel, where a parking lot will be built. This was announced by Mayor Jan Ropek (Živá Choceň) to ČTK. The costs are estimated at 24 million crowns, part of which will be covered by European grants received by the city.

"If everything goes according to plan, the tender should take place over the winter and construction should start in the spring,” the mayor stated.

The dilapidated hotel will be demolished, and a parking lot with 127 spaces for cars will be built in its place. Some of these will be designated for short-term stops. The city will use the former hotel's cellars for bike storage, where a total of 128 bicycles can be parked. An additional 200 spaces already exist on the other side of the station, where there is a large park.

The triangular area is bordered by a second-class road and a railway corridor. The city characterizes the project as a terminal in a green space and plans further planting of shrubs and trees. Sidewalks, roads, crossings will be renovated, and the work will also include accessibility modifications.

Choceň lies on the main railway corridor. Dozens of trains and buses stop in Choceň daily. According to data from 2016, the daily passenger turnover by train was 5,550, while on weekends it was 3,700. Annually, railway and bus transport in the area carries 1.9 million people.
