Brno – Brno will build a multifunctional house in the Tuřany district, where there will be doctors' offices, a post office, and other facilities. The mayor, Markéta Vaňková (ODS), told journalists today. As a result, space will be freed up in the building on Rolencova Street, where an extension of the senior citizens' home will be created on the nearby Holásecká Street. The estimated costs for the multifunctional house exceed 80 million crowns.
The investment plan was approved by the council today. "The multifunctional building in the heart of the district will serve not only doctors, but there will also be rehabilitation and massage services. There are plans for two shops as well. This will create a two-story building with a basement and parking, which will also be an interesting architectural feature in the square," Vaňková stated.
According to her, the construction of the multifunctional house is the first step toward building a new wing of the senior citizens' home, which will be created in the areas currently occupied by doctors. The old polyclinic near the senior home will be demolished. The senior home has over 100 places, and the extension, estimated to cost 160 million crowns, is expected to create nearly 60 new places.
Brno has about 2000 beds in senior homes and maintains approximately the same number of urgent requests for placement in these facilities. Additionally, there are about a thousand apartments for seniors in homes with care services.
