In the square in Münster, near the State Museum of Art, a golden pavilion has been created according to the design of the local studio modulorbeat, inside which there is an exhibition “Golden Splendor – Medieval Artistic Treasures in Westphalia”. The same authors are behind a similar project of the golden pavilion that was built five years ago near the cathedral as part of the event sculptures in urban spaces “Skulptur Projekte Münster 07”. The new temporary pavilion was created in collaboration with architecture students from the local university, where Jan Kampshoff and Marc Günnewig from modulorbeat were active last year. Covering an area of 120m², the pavilion contains an information center as well as a jewelry workshop, which aims to vividly demonstrate the theme of the exhibition. Inside the four-leaf layout, solid wood boards and plywood dominate. The outer shell appropriately corresponds to the theme of the exhibition and is made of aluminum sheets with a copper finish. At the ends of the four protruding arms, there is a full-wall window allowing a view into the goldsmith's workshop. The exhibition in front of the Münster Cathedral will last until the end of May.
