The exhibition project Vladimír Dedeček: WORK is a probe into the thinking of an architect whose work continues to resonate in Slovak architectural discourse to this day. It still significantly shapes the face and identity of several Slovak cities. The aim of the exhibition was to mediate the intimacy of Dedeček's current living environment, his thinking, and his own reflections on the past and present. To reveal, or directly demonstrate, a specific method of designing, which according to the author's words is not artistic creation, but „a precursor to some sort of automatic, computer design.“
The authors' intention for the exhibition was not so much to provide an exhaustive retrospective of Vladimír Dedeček's work, but rather to outline a portrait of the personality of the architect and through his own words create a space for personal understanding and comprehension of the work of one of the last Slovak architects of the first post-war generation.
