The studio AllesWirdGut presented its winning project for the vocational school 'BSE' (Berufsschule für Verwaltung Embelgasse) in the fifth district of Vienna. The chair of the jury, August Sarnitz, praised the winning project for “bringing education back into public life. The project aligns with the ideas of a modern educational institution through its urban scale, openness, and transparency. It is convincing with its sensitive urban integration featuring a large staircase cascading through the first three floors. This staircase is logically complemented by other functions (school library, study rooms, and reading rooms). On the ground floor, the project impresses with its cleverly conceived connection of public areas (multifunctional spaces) with outdoor courtyards of various shapes. The zoning and layout divisions are convincing with greater flexibility and particularly the partial potential for bilateral lighting. The design of the façade positively reflects the purpose of the vocational school.”
