Urbo Kune is a novel by writer Miloš Urban, inspired by the project of a utopian city designed in the mining pit of the Zbraslav quarry by students from the Faculty of Architecture at Czech Technical University in Prague and KAT VŠVU in Bratislava under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Petr Hájek, Jaroslav Hulín, and Vít Halada.
The plot of the novel takes place in futuristic spaces of a city for 30,000 inhabitants and is illustrated with architectural visualizations. The result is a book that connects literature with architecture. At the book launch, a four-meter model of the city Urbo Kune will be displayed. The structure of the model will serve as a score, which Kristýna Lhotáková and Ladislav Soukup will set to music into an architectural poem. The author of the title urbo kune (translated from Esperanto: common city) and the idea of designing cities not according to regulations, but based on musical scores, is the Austrian theorist Jan Tabor.
