We would like to inform you about the new project Loos and Pilsen. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of architect Adolf Loos, a multimedia exhibition has been prepared by Petr Domanický from the West Bohemian Gallery.
Its aim is to present Loos's unique interior creations, which were developed during the architect's long-term work in Pilsen in the first third of the 20th century, and which are not very well known to the broader public abroad.
The opening of this traveling exhibition project will take place on December 1, 2020, at the Bauhaus Center gallery in Tel Aviv, and from there the Loos theme will continue to the network of Czech Centers, including New York, Paris, Tokyo, Brussels, Berlin, and Munich. In May and June of next year, a special presentation of the exhibition will also delight visitors at the Czech Center Vienna in Austria.
The exhibition is divided into three thematic parts. The introductory section includes a brief introduction to Loos and his life story and work. This is followed by a description of the interiors in Pilsen along with information about the families of the clients, allowing visitors to explore the interiors through interactive screens and view photographs and other period documents. The conclusion of the exhibition is dedicated to the search for the fates of the original owners and their descendants.
