On Monday, September 30, 2019, at 6:00 PM, the opening of the exhibition "Ideal Zábřeh" will take place. You are cordially invited. The opening will be held in my architectural studio in the center of Zábřeh (Masarykovo náměstí 511/6a), next to the castle (municipal building) and the fortress (Talorm area). The evening will flow accompanied by music and exhibition refreshments... The opening will be complemented by a short lecture on the topic with a presentation. The essence of the exhibited work is an ideal plan, a long-term urban vision for the city. The ideal city plan illustrates how the historical urban structure can be further developed, how to build on and re-engage forgotten places on the periphery, as well as former industrial areas. It also shows how it would be possible to connect and enhance natural islands into a green belt running through the entire city. I was inspired by the confident urban regulatory plans from the early 20th century, when many cities consciously and consistently sought to manage their development and integrate all the demands of modern life. A great inspiration from this period is Gočár's regulatory plan for Hradec Králové from 1925-32. The ideal city is dense, compact, and therefore also ecological. The ideal assumes conscious development and general consensus. The ideal city is, above all, unattainable, as it will not be constrained by property, bureaucratic, or even automotive limits. Nevertheless, it makes sense to consider it. It reveals the rich possibilities for the development of the city in a single image - laid out before us, it allows us to see the potential of the entire city as a whole. The foundation of the work, temporarily set aside and now completed, was my diploma thesis at the AVU in Emil Přikryl's studio.
