On August 1, 2013, an architectural competition for the design of the operational building of the municipal stadium will be announced in Semily.
Scope of the addressed area
The area of sports facilities and the adjacent recreational park areas has recently undergone transformation after years of stagnation. The central location of the stadium in the city makes it a visually prominent focal point on the left bank of the Jizera River. The new building should provide facilities for various sports disciplines, maintenance of the stadium, and club life for athletes. The building is to accommodate operations currently taking place in the existing aging structures within the stadium complex and additionally provide modern operational standards. It will be the main visual and operational element throughout the stadium area, and therefore high architectural standards are set for its design in the city. To increase the attractiveness of the competition, a sufficiently long time for developing designs has been chosen, with a submission deadline of October 14, 2013. The jury will consist of: Ing. arch. Jiří Janďourek – independent, Ing. arch. Josef Faltejsek – independent, Ing. arch. David Kazický – independent, Mgr. Jan Farský – dependent, mayor of Semily, Ing. Stanislav Palas – dependent, councilor, member of the sports committee. The competition was prepared, and as a reviewer of the competition proposals, the architect of the city of Semily, Ing. arch. Martin Hilpert, will act.
