Tribute to Queen Eliška Rejčka in Old Brno

The subject of the Competition is the processing of an original artistic design for the realization of an artwork in honor of Queen Eliška Rejčka (hereinafter referred to as "the artwork") and the development of an architectural-landscape solution for the plot of land No. 5/2 in the cadastral area of Old Brno in the form of an architectural-artistic study for the purpose of placing the artwork.

Given the historical and cultural context, this is a significant public space in the historical part of Brno in front of the Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, whose current state requires a comprehensive approach to the solution. The client expects that the Competition will provide quality examples of a connected conception of the artwork in public space. The modification of the public space should create a harmonious whole with the artwork, which will create a quality public space supporting the historical and cultural value of the place and thus increase the attractiveness of the Old Brno locality.

For proposals that are not awarded, but that provided remarkable partial stimuli and solutions, an amount of CZK 140,000 is set aside for prizes.
