Judges: Monika Mitášová (*1968) studied architecture at the Faculty of Architecture STU in Bratislava (1993). From 2003 to 2004, she completed a post-doctoral research stay at the Center for Theoretical Studies at Charles University and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague, where she, along with Ivan M. Havel and Michal Ajvaz, prepared the proceedings Space and its Man (Prague 2004). She has lectured at architecture schools in Bratislava, Liberec, and Prague. Currently, she works at the Department of Theory and History of Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava and at the Institute of Theory of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture VUT in Brno. She focuses on the theory of architecture and has published several scientific and professional studies in the journals Aspekt, Projekt, Architekt, Stavba, and Era. She has been the curator and co-curator of several exhibitions in the field of architecture and art, including the exhibition Anna Daučíková. Work in Progress: 7 Situations (Bratislava, 2019) and the commissioner of the exhibition of the Czech and Slovak Republic at the Venice Architecture Biennale (2016), which was interpreted by the physical theater of Viliam Dočolomanský Farm in the cave at the DOX gallery in Prague (2017). Currently, she is concerned with issues of artistic research, and her book of studies on this topic (together with M. Zervan, 2023) is in press.
Jan Holub (*1986) completed his bachelor's studies at FUA TUL and master's program at FA ČVUT. "Each school strongly shaped me, and each quite differently. Thanks to Liberec and figures like Petr Rezek, I had the opportunity to leave the doctrine of encyclopedic knowledge of the Czech education system. Thanks to the technical university in Prague and especially Michal Kuzemenský, I then got a bit closer to reality, civility, and perhaps even ordinariness." In 2018, he co-founded his own studio BYRÓ architects with Tomáš Hanus. The studio focuses heavily on architectural competitions, through which it seeks to obtain publicly commissioned projects and tasks of different typological kinds.
Michal Fišer (*1973) graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at ČVUT and AVU (under the guidance of Prof. Emil Přikryl). In 2002, he co-founded the platform threearchitects with David Mareš. He is the author of numerous projects for private clients and public contractors in the field of urbanism, building construction, and landscape design of various scales, from strategic city plans to the details of street furniture. He is a co-author of the project (re)activation of the Ohře riverbank in Kadaň (Nábřeží Maxipsa Fíka), nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2011, and a member of the winning team of the competitive dialogue for Park Maniny and the Concept of Rohanský and Libeňský Island.
Monika Immrová (*1970) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where she continued her doctoral studies. She co-founded the sculptural group SOCHA 2 and initiated several of its exhibitions. She has also held several solo exhibitions, including the most recent ones like Member and Refinement. She is the author of the sculptural realization NMF in Kadaň and the stone fountain in Lázně Bělohrad. In Monika Immrová's perception and creative focus, architecture has always played a fundamental role, generally a sense of space and matter, a belief in the possibility of powerfully enlivening the spatial and light attributes of a place with her works. Her sculptures reflect a deep visual and practical experience with the synthesis of organic and stereometric forms.
Petr Bureš (*1990) studied in the architecture studio II at UMPRUM under the guidance of Ivan Kroupa and Jana Moravcová. After completing his internship, he co-founded the architectural studio Amulet @amulet_team in 2020. Amulet focuses on both design and the planning of small architecture as well as competitions on a larger scale. At the same time, it aims for overlaps into the theory and history of the field itself, processing this activity in the form of a podcast series Talking Objects.
