The editorial board of the ARCH magazine about architecture and other culture met on June 23, 2011, to nominate architectural works for the ARCH Award 2011. This year will mark the fourteenth time that an international expert jury will evaluate the qualities of the selected nominated works. The jury will gather at the end of September, consisting of Marta Schreieck (Austria), Andrej Hrausky (Slovenia), Tomáš Rusín (Czech Republic), Ján Krcho, and Andrea Bacová.
The festive announcement of the laureate of the ARCH Award 2011 will take place on October 27, 2011, in the premises of the Hall of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava.
According to the statute of the ARCH magazine award, the main mission of the award is to support good architecture, one that most accurately presents the line of the magazine. The ARCH magazine award is an honorary award, and only one is granted each time.
This year's two-round selection was made from architectural works published in ARCH over the past year (from issue 7-8/2010 to issue 06/2011). In the first round, the editorial board selected 23 nominations. These were then narrowed down to a shortlist and final selection of 13 nominations, which the international jury will assess during a three-day meeting. On the occasion of the awarding of the ARCH Award, a catalog will traditionally be published featuring the record of the jury's discussion regarding the ARCH Award 2011.
