1971-92 - worked in the joint office of James Stirling Michael Wilford and Associates
1992 - after Stirling's death, Wilford led the office alone
1993 - Wilford together with L. Bain and R. Bevington transformed the office into Michael Wilford and Partners
1989 - received an honorary doctorate from Sheffield University
1993 - received an honorary doctorate from Newcastle University in Australia
