BiographyLina Ghotmeh was born and grew up in Beirut, a millennial and cosmopolitan city marked by the scars of war. Originally, she wanted to become an archaeologist. However, her studies at the Department of Architecture at the American University of Beirut led her to question traces, memory, space, and landscape in a different way, developing her projects with a deeply sustainable approach to what she calls "the archaeology of the future." After graduating with honors, she continued her education at the School of Architecture in Paris, where she later served as an associate professor from 2008 to 2015. In London, she collaborated with the studios of
Jean Nouvel and
Norman Foster. In 2005, she won an international competition for the Estonian National Museum. On this occasion, she co-founded the agency D.G.T Architects in Paris with her partners
Dan Dorell and
Tsuyoshi Tane. In 2017, she established her own studio in Paris. From 2021 to 2022, she was a visiting professor at the University of Toronto.
