BiographyDoc. Ing. Jozef Zvara, CSc. was a Slovak architect and university educator. He was an expert in the field of concrete structures and bridges. From 1944 to 1947, he worked as a technician and site manager during the reconstruction of engineering networks. Subsequently, he studied at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava until 1952, when he graduated with a degree in civil engineering. He then became an assistant professor at his faculty in the Department of Concrete Structures and Bridges. In 1962, he habilitated and obtained the title of associate professor. In the following years, he continued to work at the same department until 1994, when he became the deputy editor-in-chief and executive editor of a professional journal called Inžinierske stavby for eight years (until 2002).
