Josef Zítek. He undertook a study stay in Florence and Rome. From 1882 to 1885, he participated in the reconstruction of the National Theatre after a fire. In 1912, he was appointed an extraordinary member of the Czech Academy of Sciences and Arts. In 1912, he was also awarded the honorary title of Doctor of Technical Sciences (Dr.h.c.) by the Czech Technical University in Prague.
